These eggless and vegan hot cross buns are rich, fluffy, slightly spiced, filled with sweet raisins, and topped with an icing cross.  They’re perfect for spring or Easter baking!

ingredients

vanilla

 sugar

vegan butter

plant milk

orange

yeast

raisins

flour

spices

activate the yeast by mixing it with warm plant milk and sugar.

step 1

mix the wet and dry ingredients to form the dough

step 2

knead and let rise until doubled in size

step 3

divide the dough into equally sized balls

step 4

let rise a second time, then brush with vegan egg wash

step 5

bake, let cool, and ice with an icing cross!
