This easy 5-minute vegan stir fry sauce is perfect for coating vegetables and tofu. This savory sauce is sweet, salty, a touch spicy, and can be thickened into a sticky texture

main ingredients

brown sugar

sambal oelek


soy sauce

garlic + ginger


sesame oil

add all the ingredients except cornstarch to a measuring up and mix to combine

step 01

pour the sauce into a skillet over low heat and whisk in the cornstarch until there are no lumps

step 02

simmer for 1-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened

step 03

transfer the sauce to an airtight storage container and keep in the fridge for 5 days


use the sauce to coat crispy tofu or other plant-based proteins


or use it for vegetable stir fries that can be served over rice or noodles!
