This Starbucks inspired homemade gingerbread syrup is sweet, spicy, and tastes just like gingerbread cookies!  It's only 6 ingredients and ready in under 15 minutes.

main ingredients

brown sugar

ground ginger





step 1

Add the brown sugar and water to a small pot over medium-low heat.

step 2

Stir to dissolve the sugar in the water.

step 3

Add the ground ginger, cinnamon and molasses. Then, mix well.

step 4

Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.

step 5

Remove from the heat, and stir in the vanilla

step 6

Transfer the syrup to a measuring cup. Let cool at room temperature.


Store in a clean, airtight jar or container in the fridge.
