📝 Why You’ll Love This Jalapeño Cilantro Aioli:

  • Taste: This aioli has a bit of spiciness from the jalapeño, herby notes from the cilantro, zestiness & tanginess from the lime, and the perfect amount of saltiness.
  • Texture: The creamy texture makes it perfect for drizzling over your favorite dishes.
  • Time: Only 5 minutes start to finish.
  • Why We Love This Cilantro Lime Aioli Sauce: I’m a big believer that sauces can elevate any dish, and this one is no exception. I love using it as a topping for tacos or roasted veggies, but it can also be thinned with a bit of almond milk to create a delicious salad dressing or sauce for grain bowls.

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

  • Fresh Cilantro: This recipe calls for a nice big handful or about 1/2 cup of packed cilantro leaves. You can use the stems too!
  • Vegan Mayonnaise: I used Hellman’s Plant-based Mayonnaise but you can use your favorite brand or even your own homemade vegan mayo made with olive oil or avocado oil. If you’d like to make the sauce a bit lighter, you can substitute in unsweetened plain dairy free yogurt.
  • Jalapeño: I used one medium sized jalapeño pepper that I deseeded. If you love heat, I recommend using two peppers!
  • Limes: This recipe uses lime zest and fresh lime juice for extra flavor. For a different flavor, you can use lemon juice.
  • Garlic: You only need 1 garlic clove. Or about 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic will do.
