Why You’ll Love this Lemon Tahini Dressing

If you’ve never tried tahini, you definitely should give it a go. Tahini is a paste made from roasted sesame seeds. It’s used in a variety of dishes and it’s full of healthy fats, antioxidants, and protein.

This vegan tahini salad dressing takes less than 3 minutes to make, lasts for a week in the fridge, and is such a nice, creamy compliment to hearty salads and grain bowls.

Ingredients You’ll Need

This easy tahini dressing only uses 3 main ingredients plus some water, salt, and pepper. To make this creamy dairy-free dressing, you’ll need to gather the following:

  • Tahini
  • Lemon
  • Maple Syrup
  • Warm Water
  • Plus salt & pepper

Where to Buy Tahini

Tahini is usually pretty readily available at most grocery stores. You can typically find it in the international aisle near the other Mediterranean ingredients and products.

The tahini I absolutely love and that I’m using today is by the company Ziyad. This tahini is nutty, creamy, and works so well in sweet or savory recipes.

I LOVE this recipe because all I need to make it is a small jar or container. It takes basically 2-3 minutes to make and it stays fresh for a good amount of time in the fridge. To make this vegan dressing with tahini follow these easy steps:

  1. In a small jar, combine the tahini, lemon juice, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
  2. Stir to combine.
  3. Add 2-3 tsp of warm water to thin the dressing out to your desired consistency.
  4. Stir in any additional salt or pepper to taste.
  5. Store in a sealable container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.

Optional Add-Ins

This vegan tahini dressing is fabulous because it pairs so well with other ingredients that you could add to it. The options are really endless here! Some really tasty seasonings and spices that you could add to this dressing are:

Some Tips & Tricks

How long does this tahini dressing keep?

This dressing stays fresh in the fridge for up to a week. I store my dressing in small sealable jars or containers that are air-tight to keep them fresher longer.

How do I make this dressing thicker or thinner?

This recipe is great because you can easily customize the consistency to your preference. Sometimes, this dressing will thicken up in the fridge. To thin it out, all you need to do is to use a little more or less water to reach your desired consistency.
